GAYA ISLAND RESORT - PULAU GAYA Location The resort is located in a unique setting on Pulay Gaya, which is 15 minutes off Kota Kinabalu. This is also the largest of a cluster of five islands that form the Tunku Abdul Rahman Marine Park, a natural conservation area off the coast of Borneo. The hotel is set on land fringed with a golden sandy beach and rocky coastal outcrops, and surrounded by coral reefs. The hilly island landscape is covered with a lush tropical rainforest and an abundance of flora and fauna, and the stunning outline of Mount Kinabalu is visible in the distance. It is approximately 15 minutes’ drive from Sutera Harbour Marina to Kota Kinabalu city centre. Facilities The holiday complex was built in 2012. The resort comprises a total of 121 accommodation units. Services such as a safe and currency exchange facilities make for a comfortable stay. Internet access and wireless internet access are available in the public areas. Gastronomic options include a restaurant, a dining area, a breakfast room, a café and a bar. Shopping facilities are available. The grounds of the resort feature a playground and an attractive garden. A library is also among the amenities at the resort. Additional services include room service and a laundry. Rooms All accommodation units feature air conditioning and a bathroom. A balcony or terrace can be found in most accommodation units, offering additional comfort. The carpeted accommodation units feature a double bed or a king-size bed. A safe and a minibar also feature. Features include a mini-fridge and tea and coffee making equipment. Each accommodation unit offers internet access, a telephone, a TV and wireless internet access. Guests will also find slippers provided. Each of the bathrooms features a shower, a bathtub, a hairdryer and bathrobes. Sports/Entertainment The resort offers an outdoor pool and a children's pool. Sun loungers and parasols offer the ideal way to unwind. The poolside bar serves a selection of refreshing drinks. Many types of sport are available, including watersports such as water skiing, catamaraning, snorkelling and diving. For a fee, sailing and kayaking can also be enjoyed. A gym and gymnastics, or for a fee, yoga are among the sport and leisure options available at the resort. An entertainment programme for children and a kids' club are among the available leisure options. Meals Various meals and board options are bookable. Guests can choose from breakfast, lunch, dinner, B & B and full board. Payment The following credit cards are accepted at the resort: American Express, VISA, Diners Club, JCB and MasterCard. Sabah Parks Conservation Fee :- A compulsory conservation fee of MYR 30 per guest (adult/child) is applied to each guest, including children, for every night of stay by Sabah Parks in support of their efforts to continue to preserve the most unique animal and plant species in this area. The fee shall be levied in client’s final bill during their stay with Hotel . Besides that with immediate effect, the minimum age restriction at fisherman's cove restaurant at Gaya Island resort is 16 years old.
